Executive Committee
The Executive Committee serves as the principal scientific and operational leadership body for the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology.
The Alliance Executive Committee is chaired by the Group Chair and includes the Group Vice Chair, Program Directors, and eight representatives elected from the Board of Directors, including four Principal Investigators from academic member institutions and four Principal Investigators from community member institutions. The Executive Committee sets the scientific agenda of the Group by approving protocols at the concept stage. In addition, the Executive Committee approves the appointment of the Chairs of the Disease and Modality committees and is responsible for the management of Group affairs.
Group Chair
Evanthia Galanis, MD, DSc
Professor of Oncology, the Sandra J. Schulze Professor of Novel Therapeutics, and the Executive Dean for Development at Mayo Clinic
Dr. Galanis is responsible for overall scientific, operational, and administrative leadership of the organization. She is an internationally recognized expert in neuro-oncology and a clinician-investigator with a long-standing interest in developing novel therapeutic approaches for cancer.
Group VIce Chair
David E. Kozono, MD, PhD
Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at Harvard Medical School and Director of Thoracic Radiation Oncology at Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center
Dr. Kozono specializes in the treatment of thoracic malignancies, including lung cancer, and he is committed to bringing scientific discoveries into the design and conduct of innovative clinical trials with robust translational medicine objectives.

Program principal investigators for the direct the scientific, administrative, and operational activities of the group’s five core research programs under the guidance of the Group Chair.
Executive committee representatives
Through regular collaboration, the Executive Committee Representatives evaluates emerging scientific opportunities, establishes research priorities, oversees operational performance, and guides decisions that advance the Alliance’s clinical research network. By bringing together leaders from across the organization, the Executive Committee ensures that scientific innovation, operational excellence, and multidisciplinary collaboration remain central to every Alliance initiative.
