The Board of Directors of the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology provides strategic governance and organizational oversight for the Alliance, ensuring the organization’s mission, long-term vision, and scientific priorities remain aligned with the needs of patients, investigators, and the broader oncology community.
The Board reflects the collective expertise of the Alliance membership. It is composed of the Principal Investigators (or their designees) from the Alliance’s 40 highest-accruing member health institutions, 10 representatives elected by the Principal Investigators from the remaining main member institutions, the Program Principal Investigators, and the Associate Group Chairs. Former Group Chairs also serve as ex-officio members, providing continuity, institutional knowledge, and strategic counsel that help guide the organization’s future.
By bringing together leaders from across the Alliance network, the Board ensures that investigators from both high-volume research centers and the broader membership have a voice in organizational decision-making. Working collaboratively, the Board establishes strategic direction, oversees organizational stewardship, and helps position the Alliance to lead innovative, practice-changing cancer clinical research.
