Bringing expertise together to advance cancer research
Alliance committees are the foundation of the organization’s collaborative research model. Through committees, members bring specialized expertise, identify important research questions, shape clinical trial concepts, and provide scientific and operational guidance throughout the research process.
Committees are organized within the Alliance’s scientific programs and the Alliance Operations Center. Together, they ensure that every study benefits from multidisciplinary expertise—from scientific discovery and trial design to patient engagement, operational excellence, and dissemination of results.
Alliance disease committees advance research within a specific cancer type. They are the scientific home for investigators focused on particular cancers. Members collaborate to identify research priorities, develop innovative clinical trial concepts, review emerging evidence, and guide studies from concept through publication. Joining a disease committee provides investigators opportunities to shape the future of care for patients with a specific disease while collaborating with nationally recognized experts.

The statistical and data management program provides the statistical expertise, data infrastructure, and analytical methods required to design scientifically sound clinical trials and generate reliable evidence.
Central protocol operations program provides the operational infrastructure needed to move clinical trial concepts from development to activation and successful completion.
The Alliance Procedure-Based Therapy Program (PBTP) advances research in approaches to improve multidisciplinary cancer treatment using devices. Its committees provide the technical and scientific expertise that strengthens Alliance clinical trials. Members contribute knowledge in specific areas and participate in opportunities to advance emerging science, develop new methodologies, and integrate cutting-edge research into clinical trials across the Alliance.

Yes, you need to be an Alliance individual member or work for an institution that is.
The time commitment varies by each committee. As you begin researching committees and talking to members, ask them directly about their time commitment.
Alliance committee chairs are responsible for selecting the individual members of each committee. If you are interested immediately, please reach out to the committee chairs directly to express your interest. In addition, committee chairs will periodically announce that they are looking for new members.
