Here are frequently asked questions about Individual Participation and how to use CTEP-IAM Registration and related components.
All individuals listed on NCTN rosters must register with CTEP-IAM and complete annual re-registration. If registration is not renewed, the account will be suspended and eventually become inactive. Once an account is suspended, the individual is automatically removed from all NCTN rosters.
CTEP-IAM registration and inclusion on your Alliance member institution’s roster provide access to key Alliance resources and ensure accurate committee rosters. Benefits include:
- Access to the Alliance member website and data management tools
- Alliance activity and committee communications
- Inclusion in the online member directory
- Inclusion in committee rosters published in the Group meeting book
- Ability to receive appropriate credit for Alliance enrollments
The Alliance receives contact information from CTEP-IAM. To update your e-mail address, phone number, or mailing address, log in to CTEP-IAM, select Personal Information, make your changes, and click Submit Changes.
The RCR is an NCI system used to manage registration, credentials, training documentation, and regulatory requirements for individuals participating in NCI-supported clinical trials. For information about RCR registration requirements and processes, visit the NCI Registration and Credential Repository (RCR) resources or contact the appropriate NCI/CTSU support team.
Investigators (IVRs), Non-Physician Investigators (NPIVRs), and Associate Plus (APs) are required to maintain Human Subjects Protection (HSP) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training, as applicable. Training documentation, including the provider, course title, completion date, expiration date (if applicable), and certificate, must be maintained in RCR as required.

Required roles—including Principal Investigators, Co-Principal Investigators, Lead CRPs, and Secondary Lead CRPs—must be designated to receive Alliance broadcast e-mails. The Lead CRP or Secondary Lead CRP should ensure that the Alliance Broadcast Flag is set to Yes in RUMS. If you are not receiving Alliance broadcast e-mails:
- Check your junk or spam folder
- Confirm that you have not unsubscribed from Alliance e-mails
- Ask your institutional IT/IS department to verify that e-mails from the Alliance’s e-mail service provider (Constant Contact) are not being blocked
